Your emotions are the results of complex psychological and sensory stimuli , including your sense of smell, which is your most powerful yet undervalued sense.
Have you ever smelled something and been transported back in to a place and time where you felt happy, or there was a deep connection and feeling you still hold with that specific time and event.
For me, the smell of lavender always takes me back to being a little girl with my mother. She loved lavender and seemed to always smell of it, so for me lavender is a very comforting homely smell. I turn to lavender when I want warmth, comfort and a safe place to rest.
At the same time limes always take me back to L.A and sipping margaritas with some of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met during a time in my life which was creative, free and so much fun!
For this reason, I love limes, I love to conjure that sense of freedom and passionate joy I experienced back then, limes help me tap back in to that.
Fragrances associated with positive or negative experiences can last in our memories and alter our emotions for a lifetime this is how powerful and important your sense of smell is and why it’s so important to understand it’s connection to your emotions. Once you do, and you learn to master this, you can go a long way in mastering your emotions and mood without the need of psychotropic medications, or simply having to succumb to the often-self-sabotaging effects of a ‘bad day’
So, What’s Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of fragrances to manage emotions and enhance feelings of well-being. Today’s scientific study of the influence of aromatherapy on emotion and mood is confirming what the mystics and spiritually connected people of the world have known for centuries: the delicate and complex aromatic compounds of pure essential oils can be used effectively to help balance your emotions and brighten your mood.
One of my greatest passions is helping women live happier healthier lives through understanding their mind, body and spirit connection. I believe this is truly for the benefit of all beings, as mothers what we do in moderation, our children will do in excess and they are our future hope for a healthier happier world.
Empowering yourself to be proactive in managing your health, in particular your mood and emotions is a powerful step to taking control of your life.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a passionate woman with powerful moods, these can influence the energy around me very quickly. Therefore, I need to make sure I’m the one in charge, and not my moods in charge of me. Make sense?
This is why I love the doTerra Emotional Aromatherapy System so much, and why I use it daily. I diffuse it morning noon and night, and also wear topically for extra benefits.
It’s my daily support system to ensure I’m always grounded, open, connected to my True Self and giving and receiving love daily.
The doTerra Emotional Aromatherapy System contains six unique essential oil blends that have been carefully formulated to provide targeted emotional health benefits.
Each delicate blend contains pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils that can be used both aromatically or topically to help ground, balance and brighten your changing moods.
